We will start off in the ancient Mayan village of Antigua, right before the Semana Santa Festivities get underway, then head up to the lake!

Villa Sumaya

Villa Sumaya is a Sanskrit word that translates: "long awaited dream." The days flow like vinyasa, filled with mindfulness, exploration, and noticing whats flowing within.

Two yoga studios: The Blue Tiger Temple with warm wooden floors, looks over a tumbling creek, through a bamboo jungle, and looks out on the deep clear lake with three sleeping volcanoes way in the background. Tara temple

Daily yoga, meditation, cultural boat trips around the lake to local indigenous artisans offering textiles, weaving, beading, painting, and clay works. Explore local fresh vegetarian cuisine,

Traditional Fire Ceremony with local Mayan Healer.

Other activities, hike the vocanos, swim, kayak 100ft deep Lake Atitlan, visit the traditional Mayan cultural villages around the lake, make careful caring purchases from the indigenous weavers.

"It's impossible to say what wakes me each morning of the week I spend at Villa Sumaya retreat center in Guatemala, but it's never my alarm. As I emerge from sleep, I let my eyes soak up the view before me, out the wide-open balcony door overlooking Lake Atitlan and her guardian volcanoes. Yet another day of mindfulness in this potent, precious place awaits. Lago de Atitlan, in the western highlands of beautiful Guatemala is known as an energy vortex. " ~Rachel Zurer
